Potters Chest Mixture
A herbal remedy traditionally used to relieve the symptoms of coughs and catarrh (phlegm) from the throat and chest.
Directions:
Adults (all ages) - take one 5ml teaspoonful every three hours.
Not recommended for use in children or in women during pregnancy or when breastfeeding.
Potters Chest Mixture Ingredients:
Liquid Extract Horehound (1:1 20% alcohol) 0.085ml
Liquid Extract Pleurisy root (1:1 35% alcohol) 0.05ml
Liquid Extract Senega BP 1980 0.06ml
Acid tincture o Lobelia (1:12.5 in 5.8% acetic acid) 0.18ml
Acetum Scillae BP 0.06ml
Also contains Syrup, Glycerin, Rectified spirit, Methyl hydroxybenzoate, Cubeb oil, Tincture quillaia special, Chloroform, Fluid extract Wild Cherry,Ttincture Capsicum, Anise oil, Propyl hydroxybenzoate and water.
All five ingredients act to clear phlegm from the throat and chest. Pleurisy Root fights infections and Lobelia helps to stop coughing which is useful in chest conditions.
WARNING: This product contains 7.0% ethanol (alcohol).i.e. up to 280mg per dose. Harmful for those suffering from alcoholism. To be taken into account in pregnant or breastfeeding women, children and high risk groups such as patients with liver disease or epilepsy.
Contains the preservative methyl hydroxybenzoate – may cause allergic reactions (possibly delayed)
